Are NexTel Phones The Best Ones Out There?

I am trying to decide on a phone that I could use practically anywhere in the U.S. without any problems....I first thought that sprint was good until I heard things about price jacking. Then I thought that a place called cellular south (I dont think too many people know of this company because it isnt everywhere) was good simpy because someone told me that they have an unlimited plan, can stay on the phone however long they want.....

What I'm basically looking for in a phone is the following:

Being able to use it anywhere, anytime. If I go to CA, I want to use it, if I go to FL, I want to use it, even in the small cities!!!

I want to be able to talk on the phone and not have to worry about "minutes" running out. I mean come on, is that a real cell phone, to have to worry about minutes?

A nice camera on the phone wouldnt hurt either....With perhaps unlimited text msg

Those are just about it!

Sprint/Nextel has poor customer service, poor service and poor selection of phones. I will stay away from them.

For mobile service: Verizon is the best followed by Cingular and T-Mobile. Cingular was recently voted as the best coverage and lowest number of dropped calls (JD Power survey). Cingular’s technology (GSM) also has better call quality than Verizon/Sprint (CDMA).

For phone devices: Cingular has the best deals and options. Verizon’s phones are expensive and are not ‘cool’. T-Mobile has the cheapest, and lately do carry some cool phones especially if you are looking for PDA type devices (e.g., T-Mobile Dash).

For customer service: T-Mobile leads in this area.

Price: T-Mobile has the cheapest (best) plans for mobile service and text messaging.

Differentiator: T-mobile phones have built in Wireless (802.11g) which none of the other carriers have. I have a wireless internet at home, and have loaded Skype onto my mobile phone. Asa result, when I am home, I am able to make Skype calls (internet calls) which do not cost a penny and does not use my mobile minutes!

So, I recommend T-Mobile for overall features.

I would go with Verizon — Nextel is only good if you plan on using their push to talk service. Plus Nextel and Sprint are the same company now and the service went down since the merge.

I have Nextel and for about $75 per month I get free incoming calls, free nights (starting at 7) free weekends, free mobile to mobile, unlimited text messages, no roaming charges (so I could go anywhere in the US and it’s gonna cost me the same), and I get 500 free anytime minutes. Nextel also has free chirp, most of my friends and family have Nextel so it’s free to call and chirp them. Plus with Nextel you can call any Nextel AND Sprint customers for free. But my thing is this, if I get free incoming calls, I ususally just call someone and tell them to call me right back, or talk after 7 p.m. Then I use it for business sometimes so that’s better because most of those are incoming and it’s a tax write off. T-Mobile has 1500 minutes for about $50 per month and I think text messages are included. I don’t know how the roaming charges work. My daughter has a sidekick and she text messages all day every day. You should just look around.

Nextel has awful phones. Very big, clunky, and old-fashioned. T-Mobile has good customer service, it’s not too expensive, has nice phones, and good coverage.
