Are there any current Verizon cell phones that can be unlocked and be used as GSM phones in a foreign country?

I'm thinking of purchasing a phone to use in the US on my wireless plan from Verizon. Then when I go to a foreign country for two weeks, I'm thinkign of unlocking it, tand replacing its sim card. One problem are there any Verizon GSM compatible phones on the market. Or where can I get a reputable GSM phone for a reasonable price?
Is it the Samsung SCH-A850?

You won't be able to use the verizon phone anywhere esle besides the united states. Verizon uses CDMA technology meaning it is a closed system only for the united states. You can purchase a GSM phone and use it over seas. Check out http://www.phonescoop.com it will have user reviews and it also has a forum so you can ask to find out if anyone knows of a good plan to use overseas too. They also have a place where you can compare prices on handsets.

actually i work for verizon and we have a phone that u can use with a sim card its not available online and i forgot the model number its a samsung. as far as i know thats the only one u can use a sim card with. it can be used in other countries, without that phone u would have to rent a phone thru verizon global dept.
