Can a Samsung G600 mobile phone be used in Japan?

I am on the Vodafone (Softbank) network. SGH G600 has quad band, but I am not sure whether it will operate in Japan?

  1. helloeveryone says:

    When you use a cellphone in Japan,
    its network system must be;
    WCDMA ( 3G / Wideband Code Division Multiple Access= UMTS) + GSM
    or
    G-HSDPA(High Speed Downlink Packet Access) +GSM.

    Samsung G600 has only Quad Band:GSM 850/900/1800/1900 .
    So you can’t use that.

    I don’t think any cell phone from other countries can be used in Japan. Japan has different networks.

    You must buy SIM card for geting Japanese phone number respectively to keep the G600 body itself to use.
