Can an unlocked boost phone be used with an active nextel sims card and account?

I broke my nextel phone while still on contract (no insurance either). Can I get an unlocked boost mobile an insert my sims to replace my nextel phone? Will this work? Ebay sellers are claimer their unlocked boost phones can work with nextel or boost.

    i am actually a boost customer service rep..and no you can not put a nextel sim into a boost phone…you can however put a boost sim into a nextel phone….dont always believe everything ebay tells you all else fails and you would like more info call 888boost4u(8882667848)….if you would like more info email here at blhcpr71@yahoo.com….

    Dont listen to the previous poster. She needs to do some research. She claims to be a rep and does not know what she is sayin. Nextel and Boost use the same network called Iden. If a boostmobile phone is unlocked, you can use it with an active Nextel account. All you would have to do is swap your sim card……….
