How do you convert GSM phones to Iden?

I have a really nice unlocked GSM phone, but I need it to work with a Iden sim card. Is there a way to convert it?

   i build cell phone sites for a living and i could be wrong but im pretty sure you have to upgrade to a 4G phone because nextel is using new antennas for the ymax and iden upgrades
