Used Smartphones

For as long as many people can remember one of the most costly cell phones available was a product known as the communicator brand from Nokia.  This phone was one of the most well liked smart phones available.  Today however, it is well known that the most popular smart phone is the apple iPhone.  Apple blew everyone out of the water by selling 13,000,000 devices in its first year and 1/2 of production.  The result was a complete redefinition of how people view their Wireless Devices in the context of a fashionable business tool.  In fact and the iPhone has created an influence which is most obvious in some of the more recent smart phone designs to enter the market, all of which head of touch screen ability.  For example the Samsung Omnia  i900 is very similar to the iPhone because of its touch screen.  You will also find very similar touch screen ability from the more recent Palm products. This is why used smartphones are still so popular.

Most smart phones are built from the ground up around what is basically just a cell phone.  What separates a smart phone from the run of the mill cell phone are things like the ability to include a good calendar, contact address book and in many cases a fax machine. Some of the more recent smart phones included the ability to play multimedia files such as mp3 and even include FM radio, and on board camera ability.  Some of the more advanced smart phones allow users to get GPS ability for map and travel information.  The difference between a smart phone and a regular cell phone is that it is aimed mostly at the consumer who is looking for a stylus driven touch screen and complete qwerty keyboard.  There is also a very big demand for games on the smart phone.  In fact many smart phones have become a good second choice for handheld gaming consoles.  However if you are a big gamer, just be advised that almost every smart phone will pale in comparison to the power of a stand-alone gaming console.  But you will be pleased to know that there are more game titles on the market for smart phones than there are for gaming consoles.

Smart phones are like every other portable data device, in that they tend to follow fashion trends.  But for some reason this hasn't changed the demand for smart phones in the used market place.  Many smart phones will still get top dollar because new smart phones are still very pricey comparatively speaking, therefore used ones continue to be a good consumer decision.
